April 16.
Che.lu
Crowded as usual. I was wearing my Zara sequined Superman shirt (na hinde sale! hmf! hahaha yobong) and sprayed myself with La Roue de La Fortune luxuriantly. Paired with my Mossimo jeans and Cartier bangle, I eyed myself at the mirror. Looking good, Hush. :) I looked at my shoes, ok. Simple and black Adidas. Well, people will just step on it and cleaning it off will be a breeze.
The Jooh Shaas were with me that night. Carlo, Ferns and his new found love, Ecko, Aldrin and his boytoy, Red. Aldrin looked good that night, and he glanced at me helplessly. hahaha He so wanted to flirt and dance but Red kept him on chains. Honestly, Red was so into him that it was bordering being pathetic. I turned my gaze at Ferns.. hmmm.. Ecko was the guy he replaced for Vic. Vic was your ideal partner, works at Shell, travels to New York to visit his parents, runner, kalbo, flawless skin, fashionista, won two-straight years as Mr. something at his company's themed party. Good catch, I would say. On the other hand, Ecko is just barely legal (18), had that Justin Bieber hair, helping out with his mom's business, does some part-time modelling and wears eyeliner. hehehehe :) I've always asked why. Ferns had noticed that Vic restrains himself from opening up to him and he had that manner that we noticed, in carrying his beer, he was grasping it with both hands!! hahahahaaha uhm, ok. So he does not want the girly-type that I look for. Ecko, as he asserted, treats him like a baby, despite Ecko being the baby! hahaha :p
Back to me. So much has happened for the last couple of weeks that I needed to drink and dance. I looked around to see if there were potential catches that night. There were some that I fancy, but I guess, they didn't fancy me. hehehehehe :) shet, sayang ang effort ko tonight. Tsk tsk.
Carlo did not do well either. He always locks lips with somebody whenever we go out, no matter how deplorable the guy is, as long as he has the body to compensate it with. He reckoned he was tired from attending earlier with his new business and didn't feel up to it. I was still talking with Carlo when somebody stood beside me, stared and grinned stupidly. He was wearing a checkered polo and it hugged him fittingly. I discarded him and continued to talk with Carlo, but my peripherals told me he was still staring at me. I looked at Aldrin and he motioned to go and flirt with the guy. He gave the thumbs-up sign. Hay. (feeling! hahahaha)
Hush: 'Hey you'
Mark: 'Hi' (can't you turn off that stupid grin?)
H: 'So who are you with?'
M: 'A friend. He's over at the stage dancing with somebody. I left him'
H: 'Why'd you leave him then?' (sh@t, I was fishing! hahahaha)
M: 'coz that somebody talked with my friend and my friend seemed to like him so I left them at peace. hahahahaha'
He studied me carefully. I gave him my coy smile.
M: 'So who are you with?'
H: 'My friends' (then I pointed at the table where they were at)
M: 'Man, ang dami nyo ah.'
H: 'di naman. You haven't mentioned your name'
M: 'oh. hehehe sorry, My name's Mark (again??). You are..'
H: 'Hush. Call me Hush' (we were now dancing)
'So why were you smiling at me?' I continued. (kapal)
M: 'huh? I was looking at my friend over there! hahahaha' (which was indeed past my back. sh#t! hahahahahahaha)
H: 'oh' (I stopped dancing. hahahaahaha awkward na! hahahaha)
M: 'why'd you stopped dancing? I like it..'
H: 'oh' (nagustuhan ng footah. hehehehe)
M: 'hmmm…. you have a cute smile..' (wala na, happy na ulit :) )
H: 'hmmm…. can I kiss you?'
M: 'hmmm.. not in front of your friends!'
H: 'and why not? They wouldn't mind!'
M: 'hahahahaha sige'
We kissed.
Mark looked at me amazed.
M: 'Ba't iba lasa ng bibig mo.. matamis.. sarap sya'
H: 'hahahaahha' (imagine me throwing my head back. hehehehe His tasted Red Horse, yuck. hehehe)
M: 'pwede isa pa?' (Now he is in my hook. hihihihi)
H: 'game!'
M: 'wag na tayo rito, nakaka dyahe sa mga friends mo. samahan mo ko mag.cr'
H: 'ok…'
I acted hesitantly. He tugged at me and I tried to look apprehensive towards my friends for good measure. hehehehe
He couldn't get enough of my kiss. He kept on asking why it tasted different and I kept mum. hehehe My secret (though I forgot if I mentioned it in my other posts) is SMINT. Always bring along a pack, you'll never know who you'll end up kissing :) hehehehe
M: 'Do you want to come home with me?'
H: 'Where?'
M: 'Las Pinas'
H: 'hahaha ang layo!'
M: 'Bakit, taga saan ka ba?'
H: 'Ortigas'
M: 'Ok lang yun..'
H: 'Saka na..'
We exchanged numbers and he promised he'd text me. He did, but the thing is, I was not so into him. hehehe He looked top and I don't dig top guys :) He promised he'd fetched me up every Fridays and bring me dinner, and he did it on a Wednesday, rationalizing that it felt like a Friday since there will be no work on the succeeding dates. It was sweet of him, but I don't know. My heart is not into it .. yet. hehehe
I just want to flirt and dance for now :)

Blue Roses :)
March 31, 2011
(Mandaluyong to Makati)
(Mandaluyong to Makati)
I woke up at around 10am last Thursday. I was supposed to attend the 6am mass at the Divine Mercy Church in Boni Circle, but since I got home late, plan B was to attend the high-noon mass. I offered my thanksgiving and prayers for Marxus and treated myself with Jollibee spaghetti (for long life!! hehe) and yum burger. I just sat there, internalizing all the things that transpired for the past 30 years (well, those that I can still recall) that went by so quickly!
Gift from Gel
I was on Skype last night with Gel from Cebu (hmmm.. I haven't blogged about him) and he showed to me what he bought for my birthday. hehe :) He knows that I am collecting Starbucks bearistas, and he took pains to go to Crown Regency Cebu to buy the Geisha bear we saw at Blue Wave when he came to visit me a couple of weeks ago (hehehe ganda ko :) ) He is planning again to come back to Manila right after Holy Week and I'll offer my thanks then.. weeeehhh :)
Tita (mommy of Marxus) also called up to greet me and informed that she sent over 4 (as in FOUR) kilos of strawberries via Victory Liner. She reiterated her thanks during those critical days with Marxus and that I am already part of their family. I was touched and responded that it was the least I could do for him and will still continue to keep in touch with his family.
Fresh from Baguio
Bday card that came along with the strawberries.. I haven't received one in ages already! :)
I went home to shower and proceeded to the office. Though I am allowed a personal leave on my birthday, I have no choice but to go to work since it ALWAYS falls on month-end! I have been telling my colleagues that I don't like balloons set up on my desk today (demanding, di ba?) but instead, I want it filled with flowers! :) Blue roses! hehe
While driving, I received a call from Janyka (AMIGA!! hehehe) asking where I was. Hmmmm… sheet may surprise! hahaahaha I said, I'm already at Rockwell and am on my way already to the office.
When I got to my desk, aba, no signs of flowers whatsoever. All 3 (Ferns, Marco and Jechel) acted nonchalantly and Jechel even proclaimed, 'Hoy Hush, wag ka mag.expect ha!!' Hmf! HIrap pala mag.expect!! hahahahaha
Jechel and Ferns excused themselves towards the restroom, but I relentlessly followed them. hahahaha I was really expecting my flowers! hmf!! Wala talaga. hmf!!
I was hanging up from a call with UK personnel when somebody tapped me on my shoulder. A guy I didn't know was handing me a single blue rose and greeted me happy birthday! hahahaaha I looked over to my officemates and they were grinning from ear to ear and Janyka took out pictures! Puttanesca! For the first time in my life, I was stupified and didn't know how to react! Dagdagan mo ba naman na he had tantalizing eyes and hair that swayed from side to side. Hmf! Puttanesca! ang gwapo! hahahaahaha I totally forgot the name of the guy, since after that, another batch of men, as in the best that the bank has to offer, gave out singly a blue rose to me! hahahaha I think they were 20 of them, even my admin officer messaged me in Office Communicator, 'wow! ang daming cute na nagbigay ng rose sa yo! :) At dito pa sila sa area ko nagtago!'. They came from all floors, 11th, 12th, 14th and 16th and took effort to greet me, or was persuaded with no choice but to comply (I would like to believe it was the former! hahahaha), even though it was month end. :) I didn't know how to react and how to respond and I was already a bit embarrassed with the commotion at my area!
Then a surge of all my friends came in with a cake on hand and sang to me :) Awwwwww, I was touched to the bones :) They handed out the remaining 10 roses, and I later realized, they stand for my age! hahahahaha 30 beautiful blue roses! :) Ganda, ganda :)
Untrimmed blue roses :) weeh
What was left of the cake! hehe
Then we went to ate at Huey Ying in Macapagal Dampa and feasted on these :)
buttered shrimp in garlic sauce
tempura tempura!!
adobong pusit :9
baked scallops :) my favorite
Ang handaan
The Best :)

30 and never going back
Somewhere in Mandaluyong
10.25pm
In about an hour and a half time, I will be turning 30, hushkins. It's not because that I'm turning a year older, and the typical a year wiser, but I face my birthday with a heavy heart.
30 days ago, I had posted in my FB that I promised to spend the next 30 days partying until the 31st day of March. It was a desperate plea that everything will turn out for the better.. Marxus was already hospitalized then and I didn't want to think of the remote possibility of what eventually changed the course of my life now. I never expected that things will go downhill from there and I realized I didn't have it in my hands to make things the way I want it to be, no matter how hard I try to manipulate the situation.
I remembered telling Ex on his last day here in Manila (before leaving for Baguio to continue his treatment),
'Pagaling ka mabuti ha. Lapit na birthday ko.. Mag.dadampa pa tayo'
'Oo.. sa Huey Ying.. miss ko na yung buttered prawns nila..'
'Oo, kain tayo ng maraming prawns! Gusto ko rin baked scallops ha'
He smiled.. but I was masking my fear then. In as much as I wouldn't want to entertain these dreadful thoughts, I couldn't help but think that this may not materialize, but still I cling to that tiny glimmer of hope.
Four or five days after, I received a text message from his sister that his condition wasn't getting any better and he had to have a respirator for him to breathe continuously. He never wanted to have that thing on based on what we saw when his friend committed suicide way back.. I knew then that he was suffering.. I kept on telling his sister to constantly talk to him about positive things to keep his mind away from the respirator and tell him about our plan to go to Dampa on my birthday..
'Sama natin si Andrei and Micmic (his 2 favorite nephews) sa Dampa ha para matikman nila gaano kasarap doon'
His sister would narrate to me how Marxus would nod in agreement and how his eyes twinkled about the idea..
After 23 days, when I thought that I have shed enough tears already, my eyes start to well up at the memories that I could have been spending my birthday tomorrow with him at Dampa, just like when we celebrated his birthday last year and ordered to our heart's content.. Just like the first time we set foot on that place, when we initially thought that his friends were going to pay for the bill and we ended up paying for it.. Just like the time when we were craving for adobong pusit and just went there to have Michelle cooked these for us..
The plan that will never come true. I miss you.. so much..
Oh well.. Happy Birthday to me. Hay.

Aussie Bearista (Destination Bearista series 2010)
My friend, Shiela, and I just finished eating dinner somewhere in Libis when she chanced upon Baby Blake. She exclaimed:
'If I didn't know any better, I'd mistake this car as lady-owned! How do you ever get to see when you back out from the parking??'
Hahahaha :) The back portion is filled with bearistas already! :) To add more to my collection, my Aussie friend Chantelle gave me this cutie :) Awwwwwwwwww… cuddle, cuddle! ;)

Early Birthday Gift (Bearista with Warmers)
3.25.11
Amici / Starbucks Megamall
Catching up with former colleagues made me walk down memory lane on how challenging it was to work for San Miguel. We relived how we started out with proving ourselves to our sales counterpart and the pains we went through to get their trust, that we were not their nemesis in hampering their sales operations but we were allies that ensure that credit risk is addressed while maximizing revenues! :)
I have wondered why one particular Sales Information Head always try to disprove my presentation materials to my then Area Sales Manager. Every meeting I had with the area sales personnel end up with a heated argument with that guy, while all the other attendants keep musing why he hates me a lot! The thing was, I never raised my voice whenever he rebuts my materials.
Armand: 'Teka, teka, bakit yung figures ni East GMA kulang ng 50, and sobra naman ng 50 si North GMA? Mali mali na naman data mo' (then all eyes darted towards me)
Hush: 'Armand, what is the agenda that we called for in this meeting?'
A: 'how to meet with our required area sales quota'
H: 'Exactly. Area sales quota, not territory, but area. So we look at the overall picture of how our area is performing versus our target. At the end of the day, those territories will supplement each other, so if one territory does not meet his respective target, the other territory helps out to cover for those. The important thing is we were not able to meet what National requires us, so we look at the overall figure, and whether I do the reclassification of those numbers now, will that change the scenario?'
Silence.
H: 'Very good then. Let's do away with shallow analysis and proceed with more important stuff :) '
I was literally grinning from ear to ear, and the other salesmen were beginning to smirk. Then, Armand walked out of the meeting (in front of our territory sales manager!). I won. :) hahahahahaahah
We all laughed at how many times we had to continuously persuade our sales group to adhere by the credit policies, without them feeling that we were 'blowing' up operations. Paulette even narrated that she would go to the extend of drafting a letter addressed to herself from the area sales just to cover exception cases, so that sales could proceed while finance gets the required approval, commitment and timelines from them. Then they were estopped from making excuses or denying our agreements because I could easily pull out those papers to prove to both my Chief Finance Officer and National Sales Manager that the Area has signed this! hahahaha :)
And the cherished moment we had was when we were able to gain the trust of our National Sales Manager, and all the sales guys obeyed every instructions that we had. NSM would even mandate then whenever his personnel were requesting for exception cases, to consult first with Finance before he approves! Sales even confided to us of their difficult positioning because of competition and we were there to help find ways that these were covered by the policies. That was sweet! :) We realized then that the battle between Credit and Sales was won unanimously by both parties :)
Then both Paulette and Irene opened up whether if given the chance, we would still go back to San Miguel. I missed the challenge in working for that company, but I told them that let's not forget why we also left. The thing is, we remember the hay days because we are with each other now, but we always forget the reasons why we moved on..
Silence.
Maybe if given the opportunity to work for another multinational manufacturing company, I would do so. We move on to better pastures, as they say :) hehehhehehe
We ended up in Starbucks at around 1230am and both Paulette and Irene surprised me with their gift!! :) They knew that I am collecting bearistas and now I have another baby :) Asia's version of the Valentine Bearista I talked about. This had warmers on instead of the love letter on hand :) I ♥♥♥ !!!

Lambada vs On the Floor
Those who grew up in the 80s would recall that Lambada was such a hit! hehehe I became addicted to the song and could recall Rachel Lobangco (?) dancing to this beat. hahahaa I imagined myself dancing to one, actually, with somebody hunky besides me, of course! hahahaha
And to my utter bliss, JLo released her new single, which is frankly, Lambana-like! hehehe and the video is soooo cool, it beats Lady Gaga's born this way. hahaha Do I see some eyebrows raising?? :) Last time JLo released this kind of mix was way back 2000, Waiting for Tonight and now I am smitten again with JLo :) Pwetty, pwetty! hahaha
